Description

GEM detectors

Digitization and hit reconstruction of the GEM (Gas Electron Multiplier) stations of the BM@N tracking system inside the analyzing magnet. The transport simulation of the GEM stations is done by the CbmSts detector class (detectors/sts), which produces CbmStsPoint objects (StsPoint branch).

Processing chain

1. Simulation: BmnGemStripDigitizer converts the MC points into strip digits (BmnGemStripDigit) using the station geometry of the run period; the strip response can be generated by a simple model or by neural networks (BmnGemStripMLPModel, BmnGemStripFdeepModel). In the experimental data, the digits are produced by the Raw Data Decoder.
2. Reconstruction: BmnGemStripHitMaker finds strip clusters on both strip layers of each module and combines them into hits (BmnGemStripHit); the clusters are also used by the CA tracking (see BmnToCbmHitConverter).
